St. Sinchill’s Camogie
Our u13 girls had their first match in the u13 league on the 17th July. We were low in numbers due to holidays and a couple not feeling well but were determined to fulfil the fixture. We travelled to Lusmagh to play Lusmagh/Drumcullen and played 13-a-side on the full-size pitch. We got off to a great start with Bridin Walsh taking a couple of points. This was followed by Aoife Green getting a few scores. With the hard-working midfield of Sarah Dillon and Jane Murray combined with our towering half back line of Tara Cleary, Olivia Dempsey and Hannah Troy, Lusmagh/Drumcullen were put under huge pressure. The St.Sinchill’s girls displayed great hand-passing , hooking and blocking and communicating skills and were a pleasure to watch. Ciara Walsh was impressive trying a new position in the forwards and scored a hat-trick of goals. Special mention also to Anna May Clear who is under 11 and scored a goal on her first outing on the full-sized pitch. Lusmagh/Drumcullen never gave up and were suitably awarded with some scores in the second half. Team: Roisin O’Connor, Ciara Walsh (3-0), Anna May Clear (1-0),Olivia Dempsey(0-1), Tara Cleary(0-1), Hannah Troy (0-1),Jane Murray (2-0), Sarah Dillon, Sarah Corcoran, Bridin Walsh (0-4), Hu Yen Glynn, Aoife Green (2-2),Hannah Doyle (1-0).
Well done to the Offaly u16 team who are now in the final of the All-Ireland B Championship after a big win over Armagh on Sunday. Congratulations to Eabha Flanagan, Shauna Byrne and Liam Byrne.
