Safeguarding Children;
All Church personnel (including clergy, religious, staff and volunteers) have a responsibility to safeguard children through promoting their welfare, health and development in a safe and caring environment that supports their best interests and prevents abuse.

As required of all church personnel in this diocese, we will adhere to ‘Kildare & Leighlin Diocese: Safeguarding Children Policy & Procedures’ (Feb 2017).

A Message from Kathleen Sherry, newly appointed Director of Safeguarding
I started as Diocesan Director of safeguarding on April 12th. I am replacing Michele Hughes who was the Safeguarding Coordinator and Mick Daly who was the DLP. Michele has kindly agreed to continue in her role as deputy DLP for this Diocese. The role of Director is shared with the Diocese of Ossory, thus my time will be spread across both Dioceses.

and reporting same to the civil authorities.
